KNAP Sack

KNAP Sack has been blessed to serve the children and the families in our community. It is hard to believe we are beginning our seventh year. When we first began, in the 2012-2013 school year, we served approximately 48 children one time per month. Last year, we served approximately 210 children every Friday of the month during the school year. We distributed 6,002 bags- a total of 36,012 meals!

This year, we are continuing to offer KNAP Sack to the children in grades K-8 who attend Ottawa Elementary, Glandorf Elementary, Sts. Peter and Paul Elementary, the Ottawa Head Start classroom, and the Putnam County Educational Service Center Annex. We are currently serving 220 children each Friday that school is in session!

We are so thankful to ALL our donors who help us reduce/eliminate childhood hunger and food insecurity in our community. It is so important that our children are able to concentrate on their schoolwork, instead of worrying about an empty belly.

We depend upon our donors- civic groups, businesses, and individuals- people who support our project and realize what a precious commodity our children are!

Thank YOU to those who continue to support KNAP Sack, and to those who are new to supporting the program. It truly does take a village to raise a child!
