Corona Virus

Dear Brookhill friends,

In light of flu season and COVID-19 being so prevalent in the news, Brookhill feels the need to communicate our crisis plan and most importantly, prevention.

We take the health and safety of our individuals very seriously and would like to keep everyone healthy and reduce risks of illness as much as possible.  At this time, there are NO plans to close the workshop unless future circumstances out of our control change this.  Brookhill will follow any obligatory guideline passed down from State and Federal mandates.  But again, at this time we do NOT plan on closing.  With that being said, we DO plan on cracking down on what symptoms we allow at the workshop.  Please be reminded if you or your loved one have symptoms of illness, you are asked to NOT return unless you are symptom-free for at least 24 hours.  This includes even if you have been to the doctor and are being treated for symptoms with medicine.  You cannot return until you are symptom-free for 24 hours.  If you feel you are at risk of illness, you will not need a doctor’s slip or have any repercussions for missing your day program.

Symptoms include:  coughing, continued sneezing, fever, drainage, wheezing, lethargic behavior, aches and pains, diarrhea, vomiting, dry heaving, or other symptoms associated with viral or bacterial infections.

Also, please note showers and cleanliness are a must!  Everyone coming to work is to be showered, have clean clothes and display good hygiene as a way to stop spreading infection.  Anyone not following these guidelines will be sent home.

While at the workshop, we are educating everyone in our buildings about proper handwashing and how to stop the spread of illness.  Washing hands will be mandatory for all employees before and after breaks as well.  Any person entering or exiting the building will need to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer that will be provided.  In addition, we are cancelled all outings and are not allowing visitors.

If you feel ill for any reason, please stay safe and just stay home.  Your health and the health of all of our individuals is important to us!  Please note, this situation is subject to change and we will work hard to get information to you as it becomes available.  Thank you for your trust in Brookhill and your willingness to comply with these rules.  If there are questions, please do not hesitate to call at 419-876-3932.

Warm regards,

Sally Sutter
